The SP485EEN / SP485REN are half-duplex RS-485 / RS-422 transceiver ICs in SOP-8 package from Sipex (now MaxLinear). With 5Mbps data rate, 1/4 unit load (up to 128 devices per bus), ±5kV ESD protection, and failsafe receiver outputs, they are a direct drop-in replacement for the MAX485 with superior ESD protection and extended temperature range (SP485REN: -40°C to +85°C). This 10-pack is ideal for Modbus RTU, industrial serial networks, and RS-485 PCB design.
