MAX7219 8×8 Dot Matrix LED Display Module Kit — Red, SPI Interface, Arduino
The MAX7219 8×8 dot matrix LED display module kit is the classic LED matrix display solution for Arduino scrolling text, animation, and pixel display projects. With a single MAX7219 driver IC controlling all 64 LEDs via a 3-wire SPI interface, this module displays custom characters, scrolling text, and pixel animations using just three Arduino GPIO pins.
The kit format includes the PCB, MAX7219 IC, 8×8 LED matrix, and all passive components — ready to assemble and use. Multiple modules can be daisy-chained for wider scrolling displays.
Key Features
- 8×8 LED matrix — 64 individually addressable red LEDs
- MAX7219 driver IC — industry-standard; extensive Arduino library support
- 3-wire SPI interface — DIN, CS, CLK; only 3 GPIO pins required
- Daisy-chainable — connect multiple modules for wider displays
- Adjustable brightness — software-controlled via SPI
- Kit format — includes all components for assembly
