GY-906 MLX90614 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer Module — I2C
The GY-906 MLX90614 is a non-contact infrared thermometer module that measures object temperature from a distance without physical contact. Built around the Melexis MLX90614 IR sensor, it measures both object temperature (−70–380°C) and ambient temperature (−40–125°C) with ±0.5°C accuracy via I2C. Ideal for body temperature measurement, industrial non-contact temperature sensing, and fire detection.
Key Specifications
- IC: MLX90614ESF | Interface: I2C (SMBus, 0x5A default)
- Object temp range: −70–380°C | Accuracy: ±0.5°C
- Ambient temp range: −40–85°C
- Resolution: 0.02°C | FOV: 90°
- Supply voltage: 3.3V | Current: 1.5mA
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
Why Choose This?
- ✅ Non-contact measurement — measure temperature without touching the object
- ✅ ±0.5°C accuracy — medical-grade precision for body temperature
- ✅ 0.02°C resolution — detect subtle temperature changes
- ✅ Adafruit MLX90614 library — simple Arduino integration
Typical Applications
- Non-contact body temperature measurement
- Industrial surface temperature monitoring
- Fire and hotspot detection
- HVAC duct and pipe temperature sensing
