MCP2562 High-Speed CAN Bus Transceiver — 5V, ISO 11898
The MCP2562 is a high-speed CAN bus transceiver from Microchip Technology, compliant with ISO 11898-2 and designed to interface a CAN controller (such as the MCP2515) with the physical CAN bus. Supports CAN bus speeds up to 1Mbps and up to 112 nodes on a single bus. Features slope control for reduced EMI at lower bus speeds. The standard transceiver pairing for Arduino CAN bus projects.
Key Specifications
- IC: MCP2562 | Standard: ISO 11898-2 (high-speed CAN)
- Supply voltage: 5V (VDD) + 5V (VIO)
- Speed: up to 1Mbps | Bus nodes: up to 112
- Slope control: Yes (RS pin) — reduce EMI at lower speeds
- Bus protection: Short-circuit and thermal protection
- Package: DIP-8 / SOIC-8
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
MCP2562 vs TJA1050
- MCP2562: Microchip, 5V supply, slope control for EMI reduction, 112 nodes
- TJA1050: NXP, 5V supply, no slope control, 110 nodes
- Both are ISO 11898-2 compliant and MCP2515 compatible
Typical Applications
- Arduino CAN bus with MCP2515 controller
- Automotive OBD-II CAN bus interface
- Industrial CAN bus sensor and actuator network
- Electric vehicle BMS CAN bus communication
- Robotics inter-board CAN communication
