GY-30 BH1750FVI Digital Ambient Light Sensor Module — I2C
The GY-30 BH1750FVI is a digital ambient light sensor module that outputs calibrated lux values directly via I2C — no ADC conversion or calibration required. Measures light intensity from 1 to 65,535 lux with 16-bit resolution, covering the full range from moonlight to direct sunlight. Ideal for automatic brightness control, light-dependent automation, and weather station light measurement.
Key Specifications
- IC: BH1750FVI | Output: Direct lux value via I2C
- Range: 1–65,535 lux | Resolution: 16-bit
- Accuracy: ±20% | Spectral response: close to human eye
- Interface: I2C (0x23 / 0x5C selectable)
- Supply voltage: 3.3–5V | Current: 0.12mA
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
Why Choose This?
- ✅ Direct lux output — no calibration or ADC conversion needed
- ✅ Human eye spectral response — accurate perceived brightness measurement
- ✅ 2 selectable I2C addresses — use two modules on one I2C bus
- ✅ BH1750 Arduino library — simple one-line lux reading
Typical Applications
- Automatic display brightness control
- Arduino weather station light measurement
- Smart lighting and daylight harvesting
- Plant growth light monitoring
