Polyimide (Kapton) Tape — 5mm × 33yds, High-Temperature PCB Masking
Polyimide tape, commonly known as Kapton tape, is the essential high-temperature masking and insulation tape for electronics manufacturing and PCB assembly. Rated to 260°C (500°F), it withstands reflow soldering, wave soldering, and hot air rework without lifting, burning, or leaving adhesive residue.
The 5mm width is the precision narrow size — ideal for masking individual SMD pads, fine-pitch connector leads, and narrow PCB traces during selective soldering and rework.
Key Features
- 260°C (500°F) temperature rating — withstands reflow soldering, wave soldering, and hot air rework
- 5mm narrow width — precision masking of individual SMD pads, fine-pitch leads, and narrow PCB traces
- 33 yards (30m) per roll — generous length for production and prototyping use
- Silicone adhesive — clean removal without adhesive residue on PCB pads or components
- Transparent amber color — see through the tape to verify pad coverage
- Excellent electrical insulation — suitable for fine-pitch component insulation
- RoHS compliant
Typical Applications
- Fine-pitch SMD pad masking during selective soldering
- Individual PCB trace and via insulation
- Fine-pitch connector lead masking during wave soldering
- Precision battery cell tab insulation
- Narrow wire and cable insulation
