74HC4067 16-Channel Analog / Digital Multiplexer Module
The 74HC4067 16-channel multiplexer module expands a single Arduino analog or digital pin into 16 individually selectable channels. Using just 4 digital control pins (S0–S3), you can route any of 16 analog or digital signals through a single common pin — ideal for reading 16 sensors with only 5 Arduino pins total. Bidirectional operation supports both analog input multiplexing and digital output demultiplexing.
Key Specifications
- IC: 74HC4067 | Channels: 16 (1-of-16 mux)
- Control: 4-bit binary (S0–S3) | Signal type: Analog & digital
- Operating voltage: 2–6V | Signal voltage: up to VCC
- On-resistance: ~70Ω | Bandwidth: ~150MHz
- Direction: Bidirectional | Enable pin: Active LOW
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
Why Choose This?
- ✅ 16 analog inputs with 5 Arduino pins — 4 control + 1 common signal pin
- ✅ Bidirectional — use as multiplexer (input) or demultiplexer (output)
- ✅ Analog and digital — works with both analog sensors and digital signals
- ✅ Enable pin — disable all channels for power saving
Typical Applications
- Expanding Arduino analog inputs beyond 6 channels
- Reading 16 sensors with minimal Arduino pins
- Keyboard matrix scanning
- Multi-channel ADC data acquisition systems
