AD9833 Programmable Function Generator Module — SPI, 0–12.5MHz
The AD9833 function generator module is a programmable waveform generator based on the Analog Devices AD9833 DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) chip. Generate sine, square, and triangle waves from 0 to 12.5MHz with 28-bit frequency resolution via SPI from Arduino. Ideal for signal generation, audio testing, and RF applications.
Key Specifications
- IC: AD9833 | Frequency range: 0–12.5MHz
- Waveforms: Sine / Square / Triangle
- Frequency resolution: 28-bit (0.1Hz steps at 25MHz clock)
- Interface: SPI (3-wire) | Supply: 3.3V (5V tolerant SPI)
- Output amplitude: ~0.6V peak-to-peak
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
Why Choose This?
- ✅ 28-bit frequency resolution — 0.1Hz steps for precise frequency control
- ✅ 3 waveform types — sine, square and triangle from a single module
- ✅ SPI control — simple 3-wire interface from any Arduino
- ✅ Up to 12.5MHz — covers audio, ultrasonic and RF frequency ranges
Typical Applications
- Arduino signal generator and function generator
- Audio frequency testing and tone generation
- Ultrasonic transducer driver frequency control
- RF carrier and modulation signal generation
