JST XH 2.54mm 4-Pin Both-Sided Connector Cable — Same Side & Reverse Polarity, 22AWG
The 4-pin JST XH 2.54mm both-sided cable is the workhorse extension cable for I2C buses, SPI interfaces, stepper motor connections, and any 4-wire interface that needs to be extended, routed, or adapted between two PCBs. Both ends arrive factory-crimped and ready to insert into XH housings — no additional assembly required. Available in Same Side (straight-through, pin 1 to pin 1) and Reverse Side (mirrored, pin 1 to pin 4) configurations to match the connector orientation required by your specific application.
The 4-pin format is particularly critical in I2C applications, where pin order (SDA/SCL/VCC/GND) must be preserved exactly. A reversed cable on an I2C bus will either fail to communicate or, in the worst case, apply power to a signal line and damage the connected device. Ordering the correct polarity configuration eliminates this risk entirely.
Eight contacts (four per end) are machine-crimped to a defined pull-force specification, inspected, and shipped ready to use. The positive latch lock on both ends ensures the cable stays seated under vibration and repeated handling.

Same Side vs. Reverse Side — Which Do You Need?
Same Side (Straight-Through): Pin 1 connects to pin 1 at both ends. Use for I2C bus extensions, SPI extensions, stepper motor cable extensions, and any application where both connectors face the same direction with identical pinouts.
Reverse Side (Mirrored): Pin 1 connects to pin 4 (and pin 2 to pin 3). Use when connectors face opposite directions, or when the PCB layout requires a mirrored pinout at one end. Common in 3D printer stepper motor extensions and display module connections where the connector orientation is flipped relative to the PCB.
