The NodeMCU V3 is the most popular ESP8266-based development board — combining the ESP-12E/F WiFi module with a CH340 USB-to-serial chip, 3.3V regulator, and breadboard-friendly pin layout. Programmable in Lua (NodeMCU firmware), MicroPython, or Arduino IDE (with ESP8266 board package). Supports AP, STA, and AP+STA WiFi modes, LWIP TCP/IP stack, and FreeRTOS for multitasking IoT applications.
