Molex KK 254 / KF2510 2.54mm Single-Head Cable — 2P to 12P
The KF2510 single-head cable features a Molex KK 254 compatible housing on one end and bare tinned wire on the other — the standard configuration for wire-to-board connections where one end terminates directly on a PCB solder pad, screw terminal, or custom connector. Available in 2P to 12P, all at 2.54mm pitch.
Key Specifications
- Pitch: 2.54mm (0.1") — compatible with Molex KK 254, KF2510, and all standard 0.1" pin headers
- Pin Count: 2P, 3P, 4P, 5P, 6P, 7P, 8P, 9P, 10P, 11P, 12P
- Wire: 22AWG UL1007 PVC, rated 80°C / 300V
- Current Rating: 3A per contact
- Housing: KF2510 / Molex KK 254 compatible female crimp housing, one end
- Other end: Bare tinned wire, ready for soldering or secondary termination
- Locking: Positive latch housing — resists accidental disconnection
- Compliance: RoHS compliant; UL-certified wire
What Is a Single-Head Cable?
A single-head cable has a connector housing on one end only. The bare wire end can be soldered to a PCB pad, inserted into a screw terminal block, crimped with a secondary connector, or used as a flying lead in a custom harness. This is the most versatile KF2510 cable format for wire-to-board applications.
Typical Applications
- Arduino and Raspberry Pi signal wiring to PCB headers
- Robotics servo and sensor connections
- 3D printer endstop, fan, and LED wiring
- CNC machine I/O and limit switch wiring
- Industrial sensor interfaces (temperature, pressure, proximity)
- LED driver and lighting control boards
- Custom wire harness assembly
Compatibility
This cable mates directly with all standard 2.54mm / 0.1" pitch PCB headers, including Molex KK 254 Series 4030, 42375, 42376, 42377, 6373, and 6410, as well as generic KF2510 and Harwin M20 headers. The housing is not compatible with JST XH (2.5mm pitch) — the 0.04mm pitch difference makes them non-interchangeable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between single-head and both-sided KF2510 cables?
A: A single-head cable has a KF2510 housing on one end and bare wire on the other, ideal for wire-to-board connections. A both-sided cable has housings on both ends, used for board-to-board or harness extension applications.
Q: Can I use this cable with Arduino pin headers?
A: Yes. Standard Arduino pin headers use 2.54mm (0.1") pitch, which is directly compatible with this KF2510 housing.
Q: What is the maximum current per pin?
A: 3A per contact with 22AWG UL1007 wire. Do not exceed this rating without derating for ambient temperature.
Q: Is this cable suitable for 3D printer hotend wiring?
A: The standard UL1007 PVC insulation is rated to 80°C. For hotend or heated bed wiring, use our UL3239 silicone variant rated to 200°C instead.
