Molex 51006 Male Same-Side-Head Pre-Crimped Cable — MX 2.0mm, 2–12 Pin, 22AWG
The male counterpart to the 51005 female same-side-head cable — a Molex 51006-compatible male housing with wires exiting from the same side as the latch. Use this when your harness requires a male MX 2.0mm connector at the wire end with same-side cable routing, such as in tight enclosures, panel-mount assemblies, or custom harness-to-harness connections where standard cable exit would cause strain or routing conflicts.
Mates with Molex 51005 female receptacles (2.0mm pitch). Available in 2P through 12P with color-coded 22AWG UL1007 conductors.
Key Specifications
- Connector: Molex MX 2.0mm male housing (51006-compatible), 2.0mm pitch
- Wire exit: Same side as latch (same-side-head orientation)
- Pitch: 2.00 mm | Pin counts: 2 to 12 pin
- Wire: 22AWG UL1007 PVC, color-coded conductors
- Voltage rating: 300 V | Current rating: 3A per contact
- Temperature range: −25°C to +80°C
- Termination: Male housing one end, bare tinned leads other end
- Compliance: RoHS
Same-Side-Head vs Standard Single-Head — Which Do I Need?
- Standard single-head: Wires exit from the opposite side of the latch — cable runs away from the mating direction (most common)
- Same-side-head (this product): Wires exit from the same side as the latch — cable runs parallel to the mating direction (use for tight routing or panel-mount assemblies)
Typical Applications
- 📱 Compact Enclosures: Male wire-side connector where cable must route parallel to the mating direction
- 📡 IoT & Embedded: Male-side harness for sensor modules and MCU boards in space-constrained housings
- 🏭 Industrial Modules: Panel-mount and DIN-rail assemblies requiring same-side male wire exit
- 🔧 Custom Harness Assembly: Harness-to-harness connections where male same-side orientation is required for clean cable management
Compatibility Note
This cable's male housing mates with Molex 51005 female receptacles (2.0mm pitch). Not compatible with JST PH 2.0mm receptacles despite identical pitch.
