Electret Condenser Microphone 6mm — Omnidirectional
A standard 6mm electret condenser microphone capsule with omnidirectional polar pattern, suitable for a wide range of audio capture, voice detection, and sound monitoring applications. The 6mm capsule size offers a good balance between sensitivity and physical size, making it one of the most commonly used microphone capsule sizes in consumer electronics, intercom systems, and Arduino audio projects.
Compatible with all standard electret microphone preamplifier circuits including MAX4466, MAX9812, and LM386-based designs. Requires a bias voltage (1.5V–10V DC) and a load resistor (typically 2.2kΩ–10kΩ) for operation.
Key Specifications
- Capsule diameter: 6mm | Polar pattern: Omnidirectional
- Sensitivity: -42dB ±3dB (at 1kHz, 1Pa) | Frequency response: 20Hz–20kHz
- Operating voltage: 1.5V–10V DC | Current consumption: <0.5mA
- Signal-to-noise ratio: >58dB | Output impedance: <2.2kΩ
- Termination: 2-pin (VCC/GND)
Typical Applications
- Arduino sound detection and voice trigger projects
- Custom microphone preamplifier circuits (MAX4466, LM386)
- Intercom and voice communication systems
- Sound level monitoring and noise detection
- Consumer electronics microphone replacement
- DIY condenser microphone builds and audio experiments
