The IR2153 (IR2153PBF) is a self-oscillating half-bridge gate driver IC from International Rectifier (Infineon), combining a high-voltage level-shifting gate driver with a built-in deadtime-controlled oscillator in a single DIP-8 package. Unlike IR2104 or IR2106 which require an external PWM signal, the IR2153 generates its own switching frequency using just one external resistor (RT) and one capacitor (CT) — making it ideal for fixed-frequency resonant converters, electronic ballasts, and DIY inverter circuits where no microcontroller is available.
