1N4003 Rectifier Diode — 200V / 1A, DO-41 Package (10-Pack)
The 1N4003 is a general-purpose silicon rectifier diode rated at 200V peak reverse voltage (VR) and 1A average forward current (IF). Part of the industry-standard 1N400x series, the 1N4003 occupies the mid-range of the family — above the 1N4001 (50V) and 1N4002 (100V), and below the 1N4004 (400V) and 1N4007 (1000V). It is the preferred choice for mains-frequency rectification in 100V AC systems, transformer-based power supplies, and any application where a 200V reverse voltage rating provides adequate margin over the 1N4001/4002.
Key Specifications
- Peak Reverse Voltage (VR): 200V
- Average Forward Current (IF): 1A
- Peak Surge Current (IFSM): 30A
- Forward Voltage Drop (VF): 1.1V @ 1A
- Reverse Leakage Current (IR): 5μA @ 200V
- Operating Temperature: -65°C to +175°C (junction)
- Package: DO-41 (axial lead, through-hole)
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
1N400x Series Comparison
- 1N4001: 50V — low-voltage DC circuits
- 1N4002: 100V — standard transformer rectification
- 1N4003 (this): 200V — 100V AC mains rectification, higher-voltage supplies
- 1N4004: 400V — 230V AC mains rectification
- 1N4007: 1000V — maximum margin, universal use
Typical Applications
- Half-wave and full-wave bridge rectifiers in transformer-based power supplies
- Flyback diode / freewheeling diode for relay and motor coil protection
- Reverse polarity protection in DC circuits
- Signal clipping and clamping circuits
- Battery charger rectification stages
- General-purpose rectification in electronics prototyping and repair
