Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor — 35V 10000µF, High Frequency, Low ESR
A large-value aluminum electrolytic capacitor rated at 35V 10000µF with low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and high-frequency optimised electrolyte. Designed for power supply bulk filtering, audio amplifier power rail decoupling, DC-DC converter output smoothing, and motor drive energy storage applications where high capacitance and low impedance at switching frequencies are required.

Typical Applications
- Power Supply Bulk Filter: Primary bulk capacitance on the output of linear regulators (LM317, LM7812) and switching power supplies to reduce output ripple voltage
- Audio Amplifier Power Rail: Power rail decoupling for Class AB and Class D audio amplifiers — large capacitance provides energy reservoir for transient current demands during bass peaks
- DC-DC Converter Output: Output filter capacitor for buck, boost, and buck-boost converters to smooth switching ripple and maintain stable output voltage
- Motor Drive Energy Storage: Energy buffer for DC motor driver circuits (L298N, BTS7960) to absorb back-EMF spikes and supply peak motor starting current
- Schottky Rectifier Power Supply: Output filter capacitor in transformer-rectifier power supplies for speaker amplifiers and audio equipment
- UPS & Battery Charger: Bulk capacitance in uninterruptible power supply and battery charger circuits for ripple suppression
Installation Notes
- Observe polarity: The negative lead is marked with a stripe on the capacitor body. Reverse polarity will damage the capacitor and may cause venting or rupture.
- Voltage derating: For maximum reliability, operate at no more than 80% of rated voltage (28V for a 35V-rated capacitor)
- Temperature derating: Capacitor lifetime halves for every 10°C above rated temperature — ensure adequate ventilation in high-temperature environments
- Pre-charge: In high-voltage circuits, pre-charge the capacitor through a current-limiting resistor to avoid inrush current damage
FAQ
Q: Can I use this capacitor in a 24V power supply?
A: Yes. A 35V-rated capacitor is suitable for 24V circuits (24V is 69% of the 35V rating, within the recommended 80% derating). For 24V applications, a 35V or 50V rated capacitor is the standard choice.
Q: What is the difference between standard and low-ESR capacitors?
A: Low-ESR capacitors have lower internal resistance, which reduces heat generation at high ripple currents and improves filtering performance at switching frequencies. They are preferred in switch-mode power supplies and Class D amplifiers where standard capacitors may overheat.
