KEY FEATURES OF 5PF, 500V MICA CAPACITORS:
Mica capacitors are also known as silver mica capacitors as silver is plated directly to the mica dielectric substrate.
Mica capacitors are one of the most stable capacitor technologies over time, temperature and humidity as well as exhibit low resistive and inductive losses (high Q factor). In addition they have a high voltage handling capability.
This makes them ideal for use in high frequency tuned circuits such as filters and oscillators and they are widely used in RF circuits.
Their main down-side to mica capacitors is size and cost. Ceramic capacitors have largely replaced mica capacitors in many typical applications but mica capacitors remain indispensable where the unique properties of mica capacitors are needed such as in high power RF circuits.
