DESCRIPTION

These PCB mounted DC power jacks fit standard DC power plugs for adding a DC power input to a circuit board.

These right angle DC power jacks are designed to be mounted onto printed circuit boards.  They fit the standard PCB footprint for these types of connectors.

There are 3 solder connections on the bottom of the jack.  The bottom center pin is the ground connection.  The pin on the back is the positive voltage.  The third pin on the side of the connector is a plug detect output.  When no plug is inserted, the pin is shorted to the ground connection.  When a plug is inserted, the pin is open circuit.  This can be useful for some applications but in most this pin is simply grounded.

The current rating for these parts is 1A, but we have run them at 2 or 3A without any issues noted.
