These male DC power plugs fit standard 2.1 / 5.5mm female power sockets.
The plastic strain relief can fit a cable of up to 5mm in diameter. The strain relief screws onto the metal plug.
There are 2 solder connections on the jack. The center contact is the positive lead, the outer contact is the ground / negative lead.
In most cases, you will want to slide the plastic strain relief onto the cable before soldering the connector in place.
