Heat Shrink Tube Kit — 164 Pieces, 8 Sizes (1–14mm), Polyolefin 2:1
A comprehensive polyolefin heat shrink tubing assortment covering eight inner diameter sizes from 1mm to 14mm, in four colors per size group. Polyolefin heat shrink tubing offers superior performance over PVC alternatives: lower shrink temperature (~70°C), higher operating temperature range (−55°C to +125°C), better chemical resistance, and no toxic fumes when heated. The 2:1 shrink ratio means each tube shrinks to half its supplied inner diameter when heat is applied, providing a tight, secure fit over wires, connectors, solder joints, and terminals.

Wire Size Compatibility Guide
- 1.0mm ID: AWG 28–22 (0.08–0.5mm²) — signal wires, thin hookup wire
- 2.0mm ID: AWG 22–18 (0.5–1.0mm²) — standard hookup wire, JST/Dupont connector pins
- 3.0mm ID: AWG 18–16 (1.0–1.5mm²) — power wires, automotive wiring
- 4.0mm ID: AWG 16–14 (1.5–2.5mm²) — medium power wiring, battery leads
- 6.0mm ID: AWG 14–12 (2.5–4.0mm²) — heavy power wiring, XT30/XT60 connectors
- 8.0mm ID: AWG 12–10 (4.0–6.0mm²) — high-current wiring, motor leads
- 10.0mm ID: AWG 10–8 (6.0–10mm²) — heavy gauge cable, battery cables
- 14.0mm ID: AWG 8–6 (10–16mm²) — very heavy cable, cable bundle insulation
Material Specifications
- Material: Polyolefin (irradiated cross-linked)
- Shrink Ratio: 2:1 (shrinks to 50% of supplied inner diameter)
- Shrink Temperature: ~70°C (minimum activation)
- Full Shrink Temperature: ~110°C
- Operating Temperature Range: −55°C to +125°C
- Dielectric Strength: ≥15kV/mm
- Tensile Strength: ≥10.5 MPa
- Chemical Resistance: Resistant to oils, fuels, solvents, and mild acids
- Flame Retardant: Self-extinguishing (UL VW-1 equivalent)
- RoHS Compliant: Yes (no halogens, no toxic fumes when heated)
How to Apply
- Select a tube with supplied ID approximately 20–30% larger than the wire/connector diameter
- Slide tube over the wire before making the connection (cannot be applied after)
- Position tube over the joint or area to be insulated
- Apply heat evenly using a heat gun (recommended), lighter, or soldering iron tip (not recommended — uneven heating)
- Heat gun setting: 150–200°C, hold 5–10cm from tube, move slowly along the length
- Tube will shrink uniformly in 5–15 seconds; allow to cool before handling
Color Coding Convention
- Red: Positive / live / high voltage
- Black: Negative / ground / neutral
- Yellow: Warning / caution / signal
- Green: Earth / ground (European standard) / safe
- Blue: Neutral (European AC wiring) / signal / data
Typical Applications
- Wire splice and solder joint insulation
- Connector pin and terminal strain relief
