Heat Shrink Tubing Kit — 164 Pieces, 2:1 Ratio, 8 Sizes (1–14mm), Crosslinked PE
A professional-grade heat shrink tubing assortment in crosslinked polyethylene (PE/XLPE) — the same material used in automotive, aerospace, and industrial wiring harnesses. Crosslinked PE outperforms standard PVC heat shrink in every key metric: wider operating temperature range (−55°C to +125°C), higher dielectric strength (15kV/mm), better chemical resistance, and no toxic fumes when heated. The 2:1 shrink ratio provides a tight, conforming fit over wires, connectors, solder joints, and terminals.
Eight sizes from 1mm to 14mm cover everything from fine signal wires (AWG 28) to heavy battery cables (AWG 6), all in four colors for professional color-coded wiring.

Crosslinked PE vs. Standard PVC Heat Shrink
- Operating temperature: XLPE −55°C to +125°C vs. PVC −20°C to +105°C
- Chemical resistance: XLPE resists oils, fuels, and solvents; PVC degrades with prolonged exposure
- Fumes when heated: XLPE — none toxic; PVC — releases HCl and plasticizer fumes
- Flexibility at low temperature: XLPE remains flexible at −55°C; PVC becomes brittle below −20°C
- Dielectric strength: XLPE 15kV/mm vs. PVC ~10kV/mm
Application Instructions
- Select tube with supplied ID approximately 20–30% larger than the wire or connector diameter
- Slide tube over wire before making the solder joint or crimp (cannot be applied after)
- Position tube to cover the joint with at least 5mm overlap on each side
- Apply heat evenly with a heat gun at 150–200°C, holding 5–10cm from the tube
- Move heat gun slowly along the tube length for uniform shrinkage
- Allow to cool 30 seconds before handling — tube will be hot immediately after shrinking
- For tight spaces, use a heat gun with a concentrator nozzle for precise heat application
Color Coding Standard
- Red: Positive / live / high voltage
- Black: Negative / ground / return
- Yellow: Warning / caution / signal
- Green: Earth / protective ground / safe
