IR Break Beam Sensor Counting Module — 3mm LED, NPN Output, DC 5–24V (1 Pair)
This infrared break beam sensor pair consists of an IR LED emitter and a photoelectric receiver — when an object passes between them and breaks the invisible IR beam, the receiver output changes state. With a 2ms response time and detection range up to 100cm, it's ideal for object counting, conveyor position detection, and security beam applications. NPN output with switchable normally-open/normally-closed modes for flexible integration.

How Break Beam Sensors Work
The emitter continuously transmits an infrared beam. The receiver detects the beam and holds its output in the default state (NO or NC). When an object passes between emitter and receiver and breaks the beam, the receiver output switches state — triggering a count, alarm, or control action.
Typical Applications
- Object counting: Count items on a conveyor or production line
- Gaming machines: Coin or token detection in arcade machines
- Security beam: Perimeter intrusion detection
- Intelligent cabinets: Detect door open/close or item removal
- 3D printer filament sensor: Detect filament runout
- Relay control trigger: Beam-break activated relay switching
