These JST RCY 2-pin male/female connectors are a compact tight-fitting connector ideal for RC toys and similar applications

KEY FEATURES OF JST RCY 2-PIN MALE/FEMALE CONNECTOR:

• Compact internal locking JST RCY connectors
• standard 2.54mm (0.1″) pin spacing
• 28 to 22 AWG wire
• 3A max current

These connectors are tight fitting as they have an internal locking mechanism and the male pin / female socket have a strong wiping action.  That makes them ideal for connections that you want to stay together when exposed to vibration or other forces.  They are popular for attaching smaller batteries in RC toys and similar applications.

The connectors are rated for up to 3A maximum current depending on wire gauge used.  For 3A operation, at least 24AWG wire should be used.

The female connector will also plug onto a standard male header.  The firm insertion force does a good job of ensuring the connection stays tight and is suitable even for long-term use.

The terminals can be crimped with many of the crimpers designed for small terminals such as those that are compatible with standard DuPont style breadboard terminals.
