Laser Emitter Module — 650nm Red, 5mW, Digital Control, Arduino (KY-008 Compatible)
The 650nm red laser emitter module is the standard Arduino-compatible laser module for laser tripwire, targeting, and optical sensing projects. Compatible with the popular KY-008 laser module pinout, this module integrates directly into Arduino sensor kits and projects without any additional wiring or configuration.
The digital control interface allows the laser to be turned on and off via a single Arduino digital output pin — enabling pulsed laser operation, laser tripwire systems, and any application requiring software-controlled laser activation. At 5mW output power and 650nm wavelength, the laser dot is clearly visible in normal indoor lighting.
Key Features
- KY-008 compatible pinout — direct integration with Arduino sensor kits and projects
- Digital control interface — on/off control via single Arduino digital output pin
- 650nm wavelength — visible red; clearly visible in normal indoor lighting
- 5mW output power — bright, clearly visible dot in indoor environments
- 3-pin module format — VCC, GND, Signal; breadboard and PCB compatible
- Pulsed operation capable — software-controlled on/off for pulsed laser applications
Safety Notice
⚠️ Never point the laser at eyes or reflective surfaces. This is a Class IIIA laser product. Always follow laser safety guidelines when using this module.
Typical Applications
- Laser tripwire and security systems — laser + LDR sensor for intrusion detection
- Arduino laser projects — digital-controlled laser for interactive projects
- Optical communication — pulsed laser for simple optical data transmission
- Targeting and pointing — software-controlled laser dot for targeting applications
- Distance and position sensing — laser dot for optical position detection
