LM741C / UA741 General-Purpose Op-Amp IC – DIP-8
The LM741C (UA741) is the original general-purpose operational amplifier – the IC that defined the op-amp category and has been in continuous production since 1968. While modern op-amps like the TL072 and NE5532 offer superior performance, the LM741 remains the standard teaching IC for op-amp fundamentals: its characteristics are well-documented in every analog electronics textbook, its behavior is predictable, and its limitations make it an excellent tool for understanding op-amp theory. The DIP-8 package is ideal for breadboard prototyping and electronics education.
