PCF8591 A/D and D/A Converter Module — I2C, 4-Ch ADC + 1-Ch DAC
The PCF8591 module adds 4 channels of 8-bit ADC and 1 channel of 8-bit DAC to any Arduino via I2C. Includes onboard sensors (photoresistor, thermistor, potentiometer) for immediate experimentation. Ideal for expanding Arduino analog inputs and adding a true analog output via I2C.
Key Specifications
- IC: PCF8591 | ADC: 4 channels, 8-bit | DAC: 1 channel, 8-bit
- Interface: I2C (0x48–0x4F, 3 address pins)
- Onboard sensors: Photoresistor / Thermistor / Potentiometer
- Supply voltage: 2.5–6V | Sampling rate: 11kSPS
- Compliance: RoHS compliant
Why Choose This?
- ✅ ADC + DAC in one module — expand both analog input and output via I2C
- ✅ Onboard sensors — photoresistor, thermistor and pot for immediate use
- ✅ 8 selectable I2C addresses — use multiple modules on one bus
- ✅ Simple I2C control — read/write with standard Wire library
Typical Applications
- Arduino analog input expansion via I2C
- Light and temperature sensing with onboard sensors
- True analog output for signal generation
- Electronics learning and sensor experimentation
