Red LED 10mm Diffused — General Purpose, 5-Pack for Arduino, Panel Indicators & High-Visibility Projects
The 10mm diffused red LED is the large-format general-purpose indicator LED for applications where maximum visibility is required. At 10mm diameter — more than twice the size of standard 5mm LEDs — this LED is clearly visible from across a room, making it the preferred choice for panel indicators, control boards, alarm systems, and any application where the LED must be seen at a distance or in bright ambient lighting.
The diffused lens scatters light evenly across a wide viewing angle, ensuring the LED is visible from virtually any direction. Red LEDs have the lowest forward voltage of all common LED colors (typically 1.8–2.2V), making them easy to drive from 3.3V and 5V Arduino circuits with a standard current-limiting resistor. Supplied in a 5-pack.
Key Features
- 10mm through-hole package — large format; significantly more visible than 5mm LEDs
- Diffused lens — wide viewing angle for omnidirectional visibility
- Red color — universal stop/error/alert/fault indicator color
- Low forward voltage ~1.8–2.2V — easy to drive from 3.3V and 5V circuits
- 5-pack
- Panel-mount compatible — fits standard 10mm LED panel mount bezels
Typical Applications
- Control panel indicators — large, clearly visible fault and alert indicators on control panels
- Alarm and warning systems — high-visibility alert indicators for alarm and safety systems
- Arduino projects requiring high visibility — large LED for projects viewed from a distance
- Industrial equipment indicators — fault and status indicators on industrial control equipment
- Educational demonstrations — large LED for classroom and STEM demonstrations
