SOIC / TSSOP-28 to DIP-28 Adapter PCB — ENIG Finish, 5-Pack
The SOIC/TSSOP-28 to DIP-28 adapter PCB bridges the gap between surface-mount ICs and through-hole prototyping. Solder your SOIC-28 or TSSOP-28 package IC onto this adapter board, and it becomes fully compatible with standard 2.54mm (0.1") breadboards, DIP sockets, and universal prototype PCBs — no SMD rework station required for prototyping.
Supplied in a 5-pack with ENIG (Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold) surface finish for superior solderability and long-term pad reliability.
Key Features
- Dual footprint — accepts both SOIC-28 (1.27mm pitch) and TSSOP-28 (0.65mm pitch) package ICs on the same board
- DIP-28 output — 2.54mm (0.1") pitch through-hole pins, compatible with all standard breadboards and DIP-28 sockets
- ENIG surface finish — gold-plated pads for excellent solderability, flat surface for fine-pitch SMD soldering, and long-term corrosion resistance
- FR4 substrate — rigid, dimensionally stable, rated for standard soldering temperatures
- 5-pack quantity — ideal for prototyping multiple ICs or keeping spares
- RoHS compliant
Typical Applications
- Prototyping SOIC-28 and TSSOP-28 ICs on breadboards
- Testing SMD ICs in DIP-socket-based development rigs
- Converting SMD-only ICs for use in through-hole prototype PCBs
- Microcontroller (ATmega, PIC, STM8) prototyping and programming
- Logic IC (74HC series) and memory IC breadboard testing

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between ENIG and HASL finish?
A: ENIG (gold-plated) provides a flatter, more solderable surface — especially important for fine-pitch TSSOP pads. HASL (tin-plated) is more economical but may have slightly uneven pad surfaces. For TSSOP-28 (0.65mm pitch), ENIG is strongly recommended.
Q: Do I need to add pin headers?
A: Yes. Solder your SMD IC onto the top pads, then solder standard 2.54mm male pin headers into the DIP through-holes to make the adapter breadboard-compatible.
